Plot
The Urobos region, inspired by Central and South America, is the setting for the Pokémon Sage game. The region was once prosperous, largely due to the worship of a legendary Pokémon named Quetzar, whose powers of inspiration brought about advancements and growth. However, the ancients grew complacent and began to exploit nature, led by the ruler of the City of Gold, who sought to expand his empire at the expense of other communities. Quetzar’s patience finally reached its limit and it unleashed its wrath, reducing the City of Gold to ruins. The Nature Spirits, still caring for humans despite their mistakes, begged Quetzar to spare the rest of the region. Quetzar agreed, but only under the condition that it would place a seal on the City of Gold, accessible only when humans showed that they had learned to coexist with nature.
A guy named Northington grows obsessed with the tale of the City of Gold and is determined to reawaken the ancient Pokémon Quetzar at any cost. Nevertheless, precisely this hubris and avarice prompted Quetzar to lock the city in the first place. Despite this, Northington can revive Quetzar, but the Pokémon is enraged to see that mankind has not altered its ways and unleashes its fury once more.
