The game’s narrative is set several years after the events of Ruby, with players assuming the role of the younger sibling of Ruby’s legendary protagonist, Landon.

Plot

You awaken in what was formerly Littleroot town, with no memories of how you got there or even of your own identity. The enormity of the situation becomes clear when you realize that a zombie army has overrun Hoenn. You begin on a quest with Prof. Birch to find your missing brother Landon and Prof. Birch’s daughter May, who had vanished while seeking to find the source of the zombie plague. Meanwhile, you’re looking into your history.

As you journey across this desolate environment, you will encounter the undead, witches, demons, and the enigmatic Taoist, Gleis. Along the way, you’ll meet the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Hoenn Internal Affairs Army, and the apocalypse’s creator, Senex.

Despite the grave conditions, this chaotic world has glimmers of optimism and fun. The delightfully insane and numerous Deadly Seven, the excellent and cynical Army Recruiters Tina and Bruce, and even a psychic dragon’s egg are all encountered. Denjuu’s world makes an appearance in this warped reality.

As you try to thwart these evil powers while also solving the riddles of your history, the struggle between good and evil grows increasingly urgent.
