In the land of Tolemac, the evil Ganon has stolen the seven celestial signs and captured Link. To defeat Ganon and bring peace, Zelda must travel through forests, mountains, and shrines to reclaim the signs. Along the way she’ll battle minions like Llort and Warbane while unraveling the mysteries of Tolemac’s odd inhabitants.
Zelda’s Adventure adopts the overhead perspective of the NES original rather than the side-scrolling style of the other CD-i Zelda games. The large open world and dungeon crawling also take cues from A Link to the Past. But Zelda’s Adventure puts its own spin on the formula with live-action cutscenes and oodles of unique weapons and items.
While it received negative reviews upon release, Zelda’s Adventure has gained a cult following for its sheer weirdness. Strange characters, cryptic quests, and wonky game design make it an absurdist take on Hyrule. This is definitely one of the most bizarre Zelda experiences out there!
