Mark is now immersed in an oceanic journey with his wife, Angel, during which they are swimming and searching for treasures around the perimeter of the area where their little boat is docked. Unexpectedly, they are assaulted by forces that cannot be seen, and Mark is shot, causing him to fall headfirst into the water. He miraculously survives and wakes up on a desert island, where he begins to carefully search the strange surroundings and ruined buildings for his spouse. He discovers ancient artifacts and devices in bizarre locations that are thought to be haunted by ghosts while gradually uncovering pieces of information about the mysterious location.

Twisted Lands: Shadow Town is a hidden object game incorporating several aspects derived from classic point-and-click adventure games. When playing the game, the player takes on the character of the protagonist and experiences the world from his point of view. The primary goal is to amass a collection of goods and then make use of those items to solve all of the puzzles that can be found in most places.

Some of the tools are only obtained after successfully completing one of the hidden object tasks. These challenges are shown on different screens and require the player to locate and click on a number of things that are dispersed across the environment. Located in the bottom-right corner of the screen, the hint button is a mirror that displays the location of one of the necessary objects. However, after each usage, the mirror breaks and it takes some time for it to reconstruct.

After completing the seek-and-find scene and locating all of the things on the list, one of the items that was gathered is placed in the inventory at the bottom of the screen. From there, it may be dragged and dropped on interactive hotspots in order to carry out an action or fulfill a job that is still outstanding. In order to disclose its contents, the inventory swings upwards, and then it automatically retracts downwards in order to display more visuals from the backdrop.

Mini-games are played within interactive windows that are located in the middle of the screen. In order to complete puzzles, players must directly control various elements and mechanisms presented within these windows. After a few minutes, you have the choice to skip them if you so want.
