“Dull and Repetitive: ‘Die!Die!Die!’ for PS Vita Might Just Challenge Your Patience More Than Your Gaming Skills!”
Unfortunately, PlayStation Vita-exclusive game ‘Die!Die!Die!’ fails to captivate or thrill. Compared to the PS3 version of Planet 51, which at least had the appeal of being attached to a kids’ movie, ‘Die!Die!Die!’ lacks enthusiasm and creativity. The game even put me to sleep twice, once in broad daylight.
Touted as the Vita’s “first medical defense game,” ‘Die!Die!Die!’ is a tower defense game with one stationary tower. The game is boring—only shooting germs with few enemies or techniques. As you continue, the opponents may speed up, but never enough to challenge you or make you change strategy. The simplistic, repetitive gaming mechanic becomes boring soon.
The game uses random power-ups to add diversity. It’s easy to pick them up and understand their function. The aim-and-shoot gameplay is unaffected by these power-ups. Survival mode is the campaign mode without restrictions, continuing the repetitive gameplay endlessly.
Finding positives in ‘Die!Die!Die!’ is difficult. The repetitious, harsh soundtrack and cute-gross images make it unpleasant. Even for $5, which is acceptable for a PSN game, it doesn’t give value when there are many more fascinating and content-rich games for less.
‘Die!Die!Die!’ is a one-dimensional game with little substance that even the most patient gamers may not like. Maybe you need a game that helps you sleep rather than entertains.
