“Table Top Racing,” developed and distributed by British studio Playrise Digital, is a fun racing game that combines arcade racing with a toy-like look. This innovative racing game was originally designed for iOS and then launched on Android and PlayStation Vita.
Gameplay and Features
The Micro Machines series inspired “Table Top Racing” to turn everyday locations into thrilling racetracks. The player drives small vehicles across kitchen tables, garages, Japanese restaurants, and picnic tables. Simple, arcade-style controls and a fun, accessible racing experience resemble “Mario Kart” gameplay.
“Table Top Racing” controls are platform-specific. Players can use “Tilt” or “Simple” touch-based controls on mobile devices to steer. Both control modes have auto-accelerate and auto-brake for convenience. PlayStation Vita controls reflect its portable format.
Races are exciting, as players can gather goods that boost speed or projectile attacks. Time trials, elimination races, catch-up challenges, and drifting events are additions to the main goal of beating other cars to the finish. Racing depth comes from strategic components like timing the throttle for a boost start.
Race performance earns players a rating and in-game cash to upgrade and modify vehicles or buy new ones. In-app purchases let users buy in-game currency with real money.

Developed by veterans of the “Wipeout” series, “Table Top Racing” has a racing game background. The game was published for iOS on January 31, 2013, and Android on January 23, 2014. The PlayStation Vita version, revealed at Gamescom 2013, debuted on August 5, 2014.
In May 2016, “Table Top Racing: World Tour,” a sequel for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile, expanded on the original game’s idea.
