Saturn Bomberman ROM Description
Take hold of your gaming excitement, for we’re stepping into the explosive universe of Saturn Bomberman. This is an enthralling Sega Saturn exclusive title that’s less about a single protagonist and more about a collective explosion of joy!
Enter the Explosive World of Saturn Bomberman
This one-of-a-kind party game transports you to a vibrant battleground where you and your fellow bomber friends control charismatic blue bombers. Your objective? Plant bombs, set traps, and eliminate the enemy characters in an adrenaline-pumping frenzy!
While the game lacks a traditional story mode, it more than compensates for it with exhilarating one-on-one battles. Revel in the chaos as up to 10 players duke it out on a single screen, either as competing individuals or as cooperative teams.
Global Connectivity with Sega Saturn NetLink
Saturn Bomberman takes full advantage of the Sega Saturn NetLink internet system, opening a worldwide gateway for two players from opposite corners of the earth to engage in heated battles.
A Stalwart Addition to the Bomberman Legacy
Launched as the twelfth installment in the renowned Bomberman series, this action video game by Hudson Soft saw its first release in Japan on July 19, 1996, before gracing North American and European markets in 1997. Celebrated for its innovative multiplayer functionality that accommodates up to ten players, Saturn Bomberman has consistently received praise for its enjoyable gameplay and multiplayer experiences.
Critics, while acknowledging the game’s captivating appeal, also expressed their desire to see the Bomberman series make more strides beyond its established formula.
Immersive Narrative: The Battle for Crystal Tower
On what seemed like another routine day, our beloved Bomberman stumbles upon an ominous sight deep within the rainforest – the Crystal Tower. The Tower, which imprisoned the fearsome monster Crator, now stood ominously devoid of its crystal bindings. As the realization of Crator’s escape dawns, a frantic message from Dr. I alerts Bomberman of Mr. Meanie’s evil scheme to use Crator’s powers for world domination.
Now, Bomberman’s responsibility is to reclaim the crystals, thwart Mr. Meanie, and restore peace and order to a world teetering on the brink of chaos.
Unleashing Bombs and Beasts
Similar to its predecessors, Saturn Bomberman presents a riveting battle mode, an intriguing story mode, and introduces a thrilling master mode, where players race to complete levels in the quickest time possible. The game also introduces new power-ups and dynamic dinosaur helpers, adding another layer of strategic depth and excitement to the gameplay.
The Story Mode Adventure
The story mode places you in levels filled with challenging obstacles, power-ups, and enemies that can be demolished or dodged. Your mission is to destroy the glowing red orbs known as Zarfs and then make your way to the level exit. Celebratory cut scenes reward your victory, smoothly transitioning you to the next challenge.
Exhilarating Battle Mode
Saturn Bomberman’s battle mode is a chaotic free-for-all that accommodates up to ten human players. It’s an exciting battleground for friends and family, and can also pit you against formidable CPU-controlled opponents. When player counts exceed eight, the game transitions to a widescreen arena, creating an expansive playing field at the cost of disabling certain power-ups and dinosaur helpers.
