Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution ROM Description

A turn-based strategy game about development and territorial expansion, Revolution has sixteen unique civilizations ranging from prehistoric eras to the future. The game will be played in the future. In addition to being the first game in the Civilization subseries to be made available on console systems, it is also the second Sid Meier-branded game that is exclusive to consoles, with the first being Sid Meier’s C.P.U. Bach. Silent Service is not included in this list.

It was designed specifically with console controls in mind, and the gameplay from the beginning has been preserved, albeit with a simplified level of difficulty. Countries such as the United States of America, England, Japan, Aztec, China, India, Mongolia, Rome, Egypt, France, Arabia, Greece, Spain, Germany, Zulu, and Russia are among the accessible civilizations. Each of these civilizations has its own leaders (such as Julius Caesar and Abraham Lincoln) and particular advantages. The Barbarians are a culture that cannot be played over, and they are perpetually at war with the other civilizations who are present. Generally speaking, gameplay periods are shorter, there are fewer prerequisites for winning, and city administration is simpler. Given that the four requirements for triumph are dominance, technological advancement, economic growth, and cultural integration, the alternative solutions are still extremely open. Either players may construct enormous armies and attempt to dominate the other civilizations in order to take control of their cities (a strategy known as “Domination”), or they can use a more diplomatic and covert approach in order to get the upper hand. Players have the option of attempting to make a World Back in order to earn 20,000 gold (Economic), or they may construct twenty marvels (Cultural). There is a technological tree that allows players to ultimately go beyond space and be the first to reach Alpha Centauri (technological).

The majority of the time, units are unique to a certain civilization. In order to acquire access to upgrades, they must first collect experience and then conduct research. Catapults have the potential to be converted into tanks in this manner. As is customary, the emphasis is placed on micromanagement. The two single-player modes provide players the option to compete against artificial intelligence players in straight matches or to fulfill predetermined scenarios. It is possible to play multiplayer with as many as four people, either in a free-for-all mode or with teams.
