Gameplay and features

In Pokemon Sun and Moon, you play as a young trainer who sets out on a journey to collect and train creatures known as Pokemon. You’ll travel through the Alola region, catching and battling wild Pokemon, and facing off against other trainers to become the champion. Along the way, you’ll also encounter a variety of interesting characters and uncover the mysteries of the Pokemon world.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, you will travel over the stunning islands of the Alola area, where you will come across Pokémon that have been discovered for the first time or have adopted a new Alolan design. In addition to the mystery guardian deities, you may run into mighty Legendary Pokémon. Use the brand-new Rotom Pokédex to keep track of all the Pokémon you have encountered and captured.

By using the brand-new Pokémon Refresh function, you can ensure that your Pokémon are in fighting form even after intense battles. If your Pokémon suffer from any status problems like poisoning or paralysis, make sure to treat them as soon as possible. In addition, your Pokémon’s performance in combat improves as their devotion to you grows. If you use Pokémon Refresh to keep your Pokémon healthy, you can count on them to be reliable companions.

Poké Pelago is a new adventure for your Pokémon that they may have when you put them in a PC Box. You and your Pokémon can do a lot of cool stuff in Poké Pelago, a collection of islands. Your Pokémon may level up or get useful items while they are having fun there.

Catching Pokémon in Pokémon Red, Blue, or Yellow on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console will allow you to import them into Pokémon Sun or Moon via Pokémon Bank.

You may transfer your Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X and Y to Pokémon Sun and Moon in the same way.
