Pokemon Ultra Platinum is a rom hack that takes place in an altered Alola region. It features over 400 Pokemon to catch, with many capable of Mega Evolution. While utilizing the basic plot of Pokemon Sun and Moon, the story has been adapted and expanded to fully integrate double battles and Mega Evolution.
In this hack, all trainers utilize double battle formats. Some Pokemon have different base stats, types, moves, abilities, and even TMs and level up moves compared to the official games. Legendaries like Giratina and Cresselia take the place of Necrozma and Nihilego. Mega Evolution is intended to be used in the main story, with Mega Stones found in the overworld and from shops.
Key additions include changes to the Sinnoh and Alolan Pokedexes, Totem Pokemon reskins, and altered Grand Trial and Elite Four rosters. HMs have also been removed, and all trade evolutions can now be accomplished within a single game. TMs, items, berries, and mega stones have different locations compared to Sun and Moon.
