Gameplay

Players take control of a young protagonist in Yo-Kai Watch who can see Yo-Kai, nefarious spirits that are only visible to a select few. The player controls a protagonist who travels throughout Springdale in search of Yo-Kai, which they may then gather and employ in combat against other Yo-Kai.

The fighting system in Yo-Kai Watch mixes aspects of turn-based combat with real-time action, and it is one of the game’s key attractions. To advance in the game, players must acquire and train a team of Yo-Kai, each of which has its own set of skills and personality quirks, and then employ them in combat against other Yo-Kai.
