Dragon Quest Monsters ROM Description
In Monsters: Joker, you take on the role of a would-be contestant in a monster competition. In order to achieve success in the Monster Tournament of the Granpool Archipelago, it is necessary to assemble and hone the skills of a formidable monster squad.
The game employs the same combat engine as Dragon Quest VIII, which is turn-based and involves the issuing of orders. The game then displays the consequences of these actions in 3D.
Because there are a large number of monsters belonging to a total of eight different families, it is up to the player to come up with a combination that takes into account the capabilities and limitations of each monster. In addition, the player’s character does not engage in direct combat during the conflicts; rather, he or she provides the monster squad with various power-ups and potions.
The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection may also be utilized to engage in battle against computer-controlled foes whose ranks are comparable to those of the player’s monsters; however, this can only be done once per day to prevent an excessive accumulation of daily awards.
