Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge is an action-platform game that was released for the Game Boy handheld console in 1991. It is the first game in the popular Mega Man series to be released on a portable console, and it is also the first game in the series to be set in the “Classic” continuity, which includes the original six Mega Man games released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
Mega Man, the super robot developed by Dr. Light, was responsible for thwarting Dr. Wily’s plans. The world was once again at peace, but Dr. Wily had surreptitiously modified Dr. Light’s factory robots. Dr. Wily, despite everything that had transpired, still wanted to rule the world. Mega Man traveled to the city to foil Dr. Wily’s plans.
After defeating the first four Robot Masters, Mega Man travels to Wily Castle, only to find that he must face an additional four Robot Masters there. Worse worse, Dr. Wily has built a new, even more powerful robot called Enker specifically designed to destroy Mega Man. It’s true that Enker can deflect Mega Man’s attacks with his lance and fire a massive blast of energy back at him with his Mirror Buster, but in the end, Mega Man uses Enker’s own Mirror Buster to beat Wily up in Wily Station. The conflict ends with the destruction of the Wily Station, and Mega Man rides a space shuttle back to Earth.
In Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge, players control the titular character, Mega Man, as he battles against a variety of different robotic enemies in order to stop the evil scientist Dr. Wily from taking over the world. The game features a number of different levels, each with its own unique challenges and hazards. Players will encounter a wide range of enemies, including robots, mutants, and other foes, which must be defeated using various weapons and abilities.
