Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 is a role-playing game released for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) in 2004. It is the second game in the Summon Night Swordcraft Story series, part of the larger Summon Night franchise.
The protagonist of Summon Night: Swordcraft 2 is a Colthearts clan orphan brought up by a Craftknight (a smith/warrior). The protagonist wishes to join the ranks of the Craftknights. Edge Fencers Edgar or Aera Colthearts find themselves in a dangerous situation when they arrive at the location of an abandoned ruin and unleash the savage Summon Beast known as Goura. Edgar/Aera ties themselves to a stray Summon Beast (a Stray Summon in the series) and reseals the ruins to safeguard their new family from harm.
The new swordcraft and their Summon Beast go off on an adventure, during which the two discover clues about the ruins, the monster within, and, most importantly, the new sword crafters’ father’s background and the source of the mysterious power they now have. The journey starts developing maturity and bravery in the protagonist by having them face monsters, travel to other lands, and interact with various animals, humans, and spirits.
In the game, players take on the role of a craftsman who can create and customize their swords. The game is set in a fantasy world where artisans are respected members of society and can summon powerful beings called Guardians to fight alongside them.
Players explore the world and complete quests, battling enemies using their custom swords and the power of their Guardians. The game features a branching storyline with multiple endings and various mini-games and side activities.
Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 generally received positive reviews upon release, with critics praising its engaging gameplay and character customization options. It is considered a classic of the GBA era and is still popular among franchise fans.
