The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ROM Description

Nintendo created and released the action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. It is the fifth major Legend of Zelda game, and it came out in 1998.

Plot

It was said that the Great Deku Tree was the guardian spirit of Hyrule’s vast and dense forest. Kokiri were a tribe of the woods that settled in the vicinity of the enormous Deku Tree. Every Kokiri had a fairy guardian except for one. His name was Link.

From the get-go, the player assumes the character of Link, a young boy who lives in the Kokiri Forest with a tribe of elf-like children who are cursed to remain children forever. In the game, a fairy named Navi awakens Link from an impossible dream. She urges him to go since the Great Deku Tree needs his help immediately.

The Great Deku Tree allows Link to join its company once he returns from town with the Deku Shield and Kokiri Sword. Evidently, a horrible guy cast a curse on the Deku Tree, and it is up to Link to break the curse before it dies. The history of Hyrule is revealed to Link when he removes the curse’s hold on the Great Deku Tree.

Gameplay

Many players were taken aback by Ocarina of Time’s 3D graphics, its novel viewpoint, and the fact that it was still a full-fledged Zelda game despite these changes. The game stayed loyal to its roots by having players explore nine unique dungeons filled with difficult puzzles and deadly foes.

Like most other Zelda games, Ocarina of Time is mostly about exploring new areas and figuring out puzzles. Combat, riding, and boss bouts all provide some diversity to the game. To progress through the game, the player sends Link into one of nine dungeons, where he must find and recover a magical item at the end of each one (three jewels in the first half of the game, six medallions in the second half). There are difficult challenges in each of these dungeons that must be solved for Link to continue on his trip. As players go through the game, they will encounter more difficult enemies known as “Sub-Bosses” in each consecutive dungeon. Following the Sub-defeat, Boss’s the player will be given the location of a key item required to solve puzzles encountered later in the dungeon. To beat the Dungeon Boss, players must use the new weapons they’ve found in the dungeon in a well-thought-out way when they meet him at the end, along with a few well-placed sword slashes.
