[PS3] Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Limited Edition ROM Download
Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Limited Edition ROM Description
Bad Company 2 was released in spring 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, with the goal of improving everything that was wrong with the previous entry. EA built the game on the Frostbite 1.5 engine, which enhanced the destructible environments and graphics. The multiplayer mode had eight original maps and added six more free maps. The maps offered more variety than the predecessor, with snowy mountains, dense jungles, and a larger scale. A Vietnam expansion was also released, adding five maps separate from the base content.
Bad Company 2 brought back squadmate reviving, ammo resupplying, squad banter, and a greater focus on team-oriented gameplay. The game also featured a single-player campaign like the previous entry and continued the Bad Company storyline. You resume Preston Marlowe’s role once more to stop a ruthless mercenary from using weapons of mass destruction.
The storyline has a more serious tone than the first game, which was quite disappointing since I enjoyed the humor of the original. Sweetwater, Haggard, and Sarge return just as humorously as before, even referencing the Call of Duty series at times.
Bad Company 2 provides a smoother experience than its predecessor with many gameplay refinements, better pacing, and greater emphasis on online multiplayer. The game now has a vastly improved physics destruction system, allowing players to shatter concrete fragments so that entire buildings can collapse fully.
New game modes were introduced that emphasized teamplay. There’s squad vs. squad, where your squad fights against four other squads in a death match. Squad Rush mode also debuted, providing a smaller, more competitive version of the popular Rush mode. Conquest mode also made its first appearance, pleasing many fans. The maps this time seem tailored specifically for Conquest and work very well with Rush, too.
Bad Company 2 was the first weapon in the series to have bullet deviation at long ranges. This increased the difficulty for recon classes, but unfortunately, the maps are too small for it to matter much; recon remains the most powerful class.
Instead of a health bar, Bad Company 2 players have an automatic health regeneration system, a feature that was becoming more common with Call of Duty’s rise. Players need to take cover behind a wall, and their health automatically recovers. Medics can speed up the process with medkits, but you don’t need a medic to recover 100% of your health.
Conclusion
Bad Company 2 brought the Battlefield franchise back on track after the misstep of its predecessor. Frostbite 1.5 unleashed unprecedented destruction, with entire buildings collapsing. DICE delivered what games like Call of Duty could never achieve. The franchise now directly competed with CoD, and its influence became more apparent. However, Battlefield remained focused on a team-oriented game with elements such as spotting, reviving, resupplying, and squad chatter.
