Dante’s Inferno is based on the first part of Dante Alighieri’s 14th-century epic poem, “The Divine Comedy.” The game follows the story of Dante, a Crusader who returns to his homeland to find it ravaged by war and his beloved Beatrice kidnapped by the forces of Hell.

Determined to rescue her, Dante descends into the nine circles of Hell, each representing a different sin. He must face the various demons and monsters that inhabit each circle and ultimately face off against the ruler of Hell, Lucifer.
