The story of Metal Gear Solid 4 is compelling, complex, and really good. You’ll always be up to date and fully cognizant of the story because you’ll watch enough cutscenes to make up two full-feature films. Speaking of cutscenes, when I want to play a video game, I want to play a video game; when I want to watch a movie, I’ll watch a movie.

It doesn’t matter what I think because I’m not the director of the game and I don’t know how they would convey the massive amount of information that makes up the Metal Gear Solid 4 story. But if I had an opinion, it would be that no matter how good they are, you have to watch a lot of cutscenes. You can skip them but I like how some other games really incorporate story, dialogue, and cutscenes into the gameplay. Anyway, they are really good and as entertaining as any top animated show or anime.

I should note the cutscene animation and gameplay are both very smooth. This is on PlayStation 3 and is currently a PlayStation 3 exclusive. It has multiplayer modes, is a very popular game so you can find new and used copies at reasonable prices. If you have a PS3 you definitely should try this game.

The process of shopping for and upgrading weapons in the game is pretty fun. You find guns and missiles scattered around the battlefield. As you collect more guns and ammo they are virtually sold and you get virtual Drebin points. There’s really no shortage of machine guns and every other kind of weapon in this game to pick up and buy. You can attach grips, laser sights, and modify them and they all have different attributes. The M60 is my favorite, does everything well, even stealth because if you eliminate everyone, there’s no one left there to hear you.

Overall, Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 is a fantastic action game with a great story that you definitely have to try if you like these types of video games. Clearly, a lot of care and detail was put into this game.
