At its core, Hogs of War takes cues from the hit Worms series. Players take turns controlling individual hogs, scrambling around environments and utilizing zany weapons. Instead of worms, you’re blasting pigs sky-high in 3D battlefields packed with platforms, bunkers, and vehicles.
The single-player campaign has you conquering islands to control the swill supply. Customize your squad, promote heroes, and avoid permadeath across 25 missions. Completing bonus objectives earns medals and unlocks new gear for multi-hog mayhem.
Local multiplayer supports up to 4 players, either competing in deathmatch or cooperatively against AI hogs. A delightfully diverse arsenal of grenades, missiles, mines, and more wreaks havoc on the opposition. Dress your hogs in silly outfits and rain destruction from the skies!
With its charismatic presentation and wealth of content, Hogs of War is a must-download PS1 title for turn-based tactics fans. The inaugural entry lays a solid foundation, although a planned sequel unfortunately never materialized.
