The Lego video game Lego Dimensions is an exciting combination of action-adventure and platform gameplay. This game supports PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U and was developed by Traveller’s Tales and released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Toys-to-life mechanics are implemented using Lego minifigures and a toy pad, and the game features over 30 distinct media properties. Launching in September 2015, the Starter Pack contains the game, USB toy pad, and three minifigures. Subsequent releases over the following two years included more levels and characters.

Lego Dimensions’ gameplay is similar to those of other Traveller’s Tales Lego video games. Up to two players can take charge of Lego minifigures based on the numerous franchises included. Players work their way through linear levels, using their characters’ skills to overcome obstacles, vanquish foes, and amass trophies like Minikits, Characters in Peril, and Gold Bricks. Minifigures may be inserted into the game by means of a USB toy pad; once inside, they can be used to solve puzzles and gain access to previously inaccessible locations.

The toy pad and the game’s primary story campaign, which features Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle throughout 14 levels, are included in the Starter Pack. Purchasing Level Packs and Story Packs grants access to more levels. Players can even construct car replicas like the Batmobile, TARDIS, Mystery Machine, or DeLorean, which can be used in-game. Players earn gold bricks by completing objectives in stages and adventure worlds, and these bricks may be used to improve vehicles and provide them new powers.

Lord Vortech, a shapeshifting entity able to move between dimensions, is at the center of Lego Dimensions’ captivating narrative. He is hunting for the twelve Foundation Elements, the pillars of time and space, to bring all dimensions under his rule. Batman, Gandalf the Grey, and Wyldstyle, the game’s heroes, travel on an exciting adventure across several universes to stop Vortech and recover the Foundation Elements. As they travel through space and time, they encounter and band up with heroes to defeat various enemies and foil Vortech’s diabolical plot.
