ROM features
After the original Kanto and Sevii scenarios, there are new scenarios to explore in Pokemon. The game features new regions, including Johto (exclusive maps from HGSS and some new maps), Mangan, and Azur. There are also new rivals, evil teams, graphics, and menus. The game starts with the National dex and includes a physical/special/status split, new moves and abilities, and the BW Repel System. Additionally, poison outside of battle leaves only 1 HP, you can run indoors, and decapitalization is used.
New Battle Backgrounds and increased difficulty are also included. There is a day/night circle and weather, including HG/SS/DPP snow. The Pokemon World Tournament and The Kolloseum are like the B2/W2 games. Anecdotes and famous quotes add to the game’s charm. All the Pokemons are catchable and there are Mega Evolutions & Mega gems. There are more than 540 Pokemons from gen 1 to 6; you can buy a home and customize it. There is a new ferry and bus system in the new region, a new Pokecenter, and an additional storyline based on the film “7 samurais”.
All generations of Pokemons are included, and sprites are updated for trainers, Pokemons, etc. PokeMarts are updated and there are new evolutionary stones. Eggs hatch at level 1, IV is in the menu, and there is a new bootscreen. The Johto Safari Zone is in addition to the Kanto Safari Zone. The story is non-linear (Johto and Azur A.), and there is a true open world (in Azur Archipelago and Johto). A complete game guide (more than 100 pages of information!) is also available. The Restaurant of Fighters (like in X/Y), inverse battle, new trainer sprites, and “Egg Market” & “Black Market” round out the game’s features.
