In a departure from traditional Pokémon games, players take on the role of a human who has undergone a miraculous transformation into a Pokémon. Upon coming to terms with this astonishing occurrence, a Butterfree requires assistance – its beloved Caterpie baby has become trapped in a dungeon and is unable to escape.
Together with other Pokémon companions encountered along the journey, you must navigate through dungeons that are randomly generated to assist other Pokémon in need of rescue or delivery of items.
The battles in this game break the mold of previous Pokémon titles as they unfold on the game map, yet remain turn-based in nature. Although players only have direct control over the Pokémon that represents them in the game, they can provide general battle orders to their allies, such as utilizing more powerful special attacks or conserving items.
