Pokemon Odyssey ROM Description
The brainchild of PacoScarso, Pokemon Odyssey is a fan-made GBA ROM Hack that takes inspiration from the worlds of Pokemon Fire Red, Made in Abyss, and Etrian Odyssey. It’s an exciting crossover project that seamlessly blends the three universes into one captivating adventure.
At its core, Pokemon Odyssey is a dungeon-crawler with a strong focus on storytelling. You can expect to embark on a thrilling journey filled with twists and turns as they navigate through intricate mazes and dangerous dungeons. With each step, they’ll uncover more about the story and the world around them, making for a truly immersive experience.
Plot
The island of Talrega harbors a mysterious and colossal maze known as the Yggdrasil labyrinth. Its intricate design contains vast treasures, luring adventurers from every corner of the world to explore its depths. Does the prospect of wealth and fame entice you? Or do you crave the challenge of honing your skills as a trainer by braving the labyrinth’s many trials?
In this game, you will assume the role of Nyx, a spirited young adventurer who has set her sights on conquering the Yggdrasil labyrinth. However, her descent into its depths quickly takes a perilous turn, as an unforeseen obstacle threatens to impede her progress. Perhaps there is more at stake than she initially realized as she delves deeper into the mysterious labyrinth…
ROM features
Pokemon Odyssey introduces a brand new region and story, where double battles reign supreme – unless you only have one trusty Pokémon by your side. Bid farewell to the traditional Gym leaders, evil teams, and elite 4; it’s time to break free and explore a new world of adventure.
Every Pokémon in this region has been rebalanced, including those from generations 1-3, the evolutions from gen 4, and extras like Farigiraf. With multiple difficulty settings and soft-level caps, the challenge will always match your skill level. And, with an EV-IV screen, nature colors, and other helpful features, you’ll have all the tools you need to succeed.
During battles, healing items are strictly off-limits. However, you can use Etrian Odyssey features like Mining and Gathering points, Naval Exploration, Shop Upgrades, and FOEs to give yourself an edge. Plus, there are plenty of side quests to discover and a side quest menu to keep track of them all.
In this region, every Pokémon has 31 IVs, so you don’t have to spend hours breeding or farming to get the perfect one. And, rather than earning EVs from beating other Pokémon, you’ll need to use Power Items or Vitamins to boost your stats (at a discounted price, of course).
Customize your Pokémon to your liking by changing their nature and ability with in-game functions. And, with an Exp. Share Gen VI style game mechanic. Your entire team will benefit from each battle. The shiny rate has increased, and a fresh new soundtrack is to accompany your adventure.
