Pokemon Ruby++ ROM Description
Hello PokéCommunity, I’m thrilled to introduce my new project, a meticulous enhancement of the original Pokemon Ruby version – Ruby++. My aim is to refine the base game, eventually using it as the foundation for my ambitious future game, Ruby 2. Just as Pokemon Black 2/White 2 expanded the original story with a new protagonist and narrative, Ruby 2 will guide players through a smaller region before revisiting Hoenn in a refreshed context. Version 1.0 of Ruby++ has just been released, and I will continue refining it in the coming months before embarking on the longer journey of creating Ruby 2.
Pokemon Ruby++ is a comprehensive improvement hack, introducing a variety of exciting changes to enrich your Pokemon Ruby experience.
Features:
- Physical/Special Split: Battles now consider the nature of the move (physical or special), adding depth to your battle strategy.
- Shiny Pokémon Chaining: Increases the odds of encountering shiny Pokemon, making these rare creatures more accessible.
- Travel to Orre: Expand your journey to the Orre region for more exploration and adventure.
- HM Items: Navigate the world with ease using items that replicate Hidden Machines’ effects, reducing the need for HM slaves.
- Nature colored stats: Easily identify the impact of your Pokemon’s nature on its stats with color-coded information.
- Increased Difficulty: The game’s difficulty level has been ramped up for veteran trainers seeking a challenge.
- BW Repel System: A handy feature from Pokemon Black and White that asks if you want to use another Repel after your current one runs out.
- Updated BST and Movesets to Generation 7: Pokemon base stats and movesets are updated to match Generation 7 standards for a modernized gameplay experience.
- Added abilities and many Pokemon up to Generation 7 and 4 respectively: Encounter and train a wider variety of Pokemon with an expanded list of abilities.
- Overworld Abilities: Abilities like Synchronize, Flame Body/Magma Armor, Compound Eyes, and Suction Cups now have effects outside of battle.
- EVs/IVs visible on the summary screen: Keep tracking your Pokemon’s growth and potential.
- 6 New TMs and Reusable TMs: Expand your Pokemon’s skillset with new moves, and reuse TMs as much as you want.
- Added over 100 moves from Gen IV (all except fling): More moves mean more strategic possibilities in battles.
- Yellow TM balls in the overworld: Spot valuable TMs easily in the overworld.
- All non-legendary Pokemon are available: Complete your Pokedex without needing legendary Pokemon.
- New evolution methods: Evolve your Pokemon in new ways, such as leveling up with a certain move, leveling up in a specific location, using new evolution stones, and more.
- Ability 2 with rarity: Pokemon can have a second, rarer ability, adding more variety to battles.
- Run indoors: Move around faster indoors with the ability to run.
- Bug fixes from Gen 3: Experience smoother gameplay with many of the original game’s bugs fixed, including the Roaming Pokemon IV glitch.
I’m dedicated to enhancing your Pokemon Ruby experience and excited for you to try out Ruby++. Your feedback will be invaluable as I strive for perfection before embarking on the development of Ruby 2.
