Pokemon Saiph Version ROM Description
Pokemon Saiph, produced by #Vytron, is a FireRed ROM hack compatible with many GBA emulators. It contains improved visuals and animations similar of the DS games, as well as an unofficial sequel to a prior Pokemon game, which will be discussed further later. The game also features changes to the amount of Pokemon, as well as their attributes and kinds, including the addition of the Fairy-type.
While this game is certified to be finished, some small problems may be present during gameplay, such as Pokedex issues. Gamers should keep an eye out for any updates that may be published to solve these issues.
Plot
The plot picks up some years after the events of Pokémon Rangers Shadows of Almia. Scientists discovered a technique to use the Shadow Crystal’s energy as a resource after purifying it. But, in response to the inhabitants’ anxieties and concerns, the government sold the crystal to the Hoenn area, where it was stored in the refurbished Old Mauville Power Station. All was tranquil until a massive explosion happened, causing unsafe radiation levels to spread. As a consequence, the Shadow Crystal was relocated to a secret laboratory in the adjacent Colen area, and the whole West Hoenn region was evacuated, including your village, Littleroot Town.
A decade later, you begin your Pokémon adventure in Colen, where you meet Team Void, a criminal group linked to the Shadow Crystal. The group aims to take the crystal and use it to locate Shenow’s missing father, who is said to be trapped inside the crystal. If they succeed, they want to utilize the crystal’s power and Darkrai’s influence to rule the globe. Your mission is to thwart their nefarious scheme and restore peace to Colen, and potentially the entire globe. Perhaps you can put a stop to the mayhem by following in the footsteps of the Rangers from 2008.
ROM features
Firstly, let’s discuss the aesthetics of Pokemon Saiph, which appear to be heavily influenced by the Generation V games on the DS. Background images are visible during battles, and some locations feature music from the DS games. The Pokemon roster includes creatures from Generations I through VI, though it is unclear which ones are confirmed.
The game also features updated stats for the available Pokemon and updated types for all creatures, not just those from Generation III. In terms of gameplay mechanics, many new features have been introduced, including the appearance of sideways stairs, which is a welcome design addition.
Players can enjoy a day and night cycle, and will encounter the nefarious Team Void as they progress through the game. Additionally, the introduction of sideways stairs creates new opportunities for exploration and gameplay mechanics.
The game includes updated items and TMs, which are now reusable, so players need not worry about wasting them. Additionally, there is a great deal of new content, including a previously unseen area in Hoenn and the opportunity to explore a new region called Colen later in the game, although this region is not considered official.
