If you believe you have conquered every Pac-Man labyrinth, get ready for Pac-Mania, a brand-new and exciting challenge. This 1987 installment of the venerable series features novel gameplay and an isometric viewpoint for a Pac-adventure unlike any other.
The basic goal is still to eat all the dots and stay clear of the vibrant ghosts who are prowling the maze. In order to flip the game and hunt down ghosts for extra points, eat flashing Power Pellets. On the other hand, the oblique angle offers an entirely different tactical perspective.
Pac-Man may now do daring evasive maneuvers by completely jumping over ghosts. But be careful—in subsequent rounds, leaping ghosts are added, requiring even greater timed accuracy. The complexity increases quickly with the addition of scrolling levels that wrap horizontally and gradually reduce jump strength.
Pac-Mania calls for equal parts skill, strategy, and lightning-fast reflexes with its four distinct mazes packed of platforms and holes. For seasoned maze runners, this creative twist on the Pac-formula offers a pleasant new challenge.
