Body Harvest ROM Description
“Body Harvest” is an incredible action-adventure game from DMA Design set on an alien occupied earth. In spite of its harsh themes contributing to its delays, the 1998 game was ground breaking with regards to time travel and brutal combat.
Genetically modified soldier Adam Drake fights extraterrestrial threat. Every 25 years, aliens come back for more biological materials. Using a time-travel gadget, Drake moves from World War I Greece, into the near future to defend humanity.
Body Harvest has an impressive non-linear gameplay that gives the players a free reign in the environment. The environment feels as authentic as one could expect from the science fiction and history mix. There are different levels of time periods and landscapes which are complex to the game.
The object of the game is protecting civilians from the aliens that they send to kill them in the protected regions. Players contend with various aliens coming from land, air, and sea on various landscapes. Planning and reflexes are required for simple as well as complicated missions. The civilian death counter makes the gameplay even more exciting as too many civilian deaths lead to mission failure.
In “Body Harvest,” vehicle use is fundamental. The attributes of each vehicle differ from tanks to airplanes, automobiles, and motorcycles. Walking and driving combat makes the game more tactical.
Exploration is important since structures provide resources, weaponry, and plot-oriented experiences. The last challenge of each level is to take out the Shield Generator and defeat the beast.
