Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars) ROM Description
In this 64-bit reimagining of the classic Super Nintendo Entertainment System game, Fox McCloud is back to save the Lylat System from evil clutches.
The game’s objective is to make it as far as possible in your Arwing while fending off waves of increasingly difficult foes and confronting increasingly powerful bosses at the end of each stage. Three companions—Slippy Toad, Peppy Hare, and Falco Lombardi—will follow behind to assist you. You will also use the Blue Marine submarine and the Landmaster tank at certain points throughout the game.
There are a total of 15 levels, and they range from forward scrolling levels (similar to Panzer Dragoon or some aspects of Star Wars Arcade) to complete 3D arenas. Each of these levels has a specific goal to accomplish or boss to defeat. The size of your frags when you reach the end of each level will influence the path you choose on the universe tree. The universe tree has three different difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. Each of these three leads directly to the finish of the game’s third and final level.
In addition, there are multiplayer modes, which allow for a total of four players to engage in combat in either Arwings or, if the player has completed all of the objectives in the single-player missions, they can engage in combat on foot, in which the four main characters run around with laser cannons.
