In another crazy DS beat ’em up, Crash destroys Cortex’s evil plans. Crash: To thwart Cortex’s mind-controlling phone, Mind Over Mutant sends Crash and Aku Aku across Wumpa Island. Take down villains, jack Titans, and explore vibrant settings connected by an odd narrative. Fans of Crash’s endearingly ridiculous antics will like his predictable shenanigans.
The evil NV gadget, which Cortex and N. Brio invented, allows them to control mutant behavior. It can only be turned off by Crash and Aku Aku! As you go around the island, break crates to gather Mojo energy and spin-attack enemies. Once a Titan’s star meter is full, saddle them to unleash mayhem with their powers. As you go, you may also modify Crash’s moves.
With lots of humor and bizarre animation techniques, the satirical sequences are entertaining. Although the gameplay is still straightforward beat ’em up fare, creativity keeps things interesting. Adorable visuals also perfectly convey the bizarre vibe.
Crash: Mind Over Mutant is silly fun in the vein of the original series, but it offers more of the same platforming action. This crazy frolic is just what you need if you’re craving more of Crash’s trademark craziness.
