Dragon Booster ROM Description

Get Ready for Boring Racing in Dragon Booster

This Nintendo DS game, which is based on the enchanted racing animation, lets you blast through the future Dragon Booster planet. Prepare for fierce races against formidable opponents by selecting your dragon. However, despite its intriguing idea of racing dragons, Dragon Booster is a sad failure.

In the narrative, a society that was destroyed in a conflict between humans and dragons is recreated. The two now cohabit once more as humans compete against dragons in high-stakes races. To avert oncoming conflict, you must ascend through the ranks as a novice racer and become the renowned Dragon Booster. However, the storyline is badly written and doesn’t make sense in relation to the racing.

Choose from five distinct modes, including career, training, and multiplayer, and mount special dragons with varying attributes. But when steering and speed are automated, the differences seem insignificant. It’s an on-rails experience rather than an immersive race. Simply leap, go sideways, and turn on pointless boosters.

Winning requires fighting opponents as there is no direct racing. Take down other racers with unique assaults and gear. However, the clumsy controls and touchscreen make aiming inaccurate. Enemies also instantaneously respawn mysteriously. All you can do is play a shooting gallery against a limited number of adversaries and surroundings over and over again.

The routes go through desolate areas such as volcanoes and urban shantytowns. However, the images are pixelated and awful, with backdrops that are repeated endlessly. Use your race victories to customize your dragon with newly acquired weapons and armor. But the alternatives are pricey, scarce, and have little effect on boring gameplay.

The tone is appropriately set by the intense symphonic soundtrack, but the effects are jumbled and unmemorable. The narrative mode is not at bit like a real race; it’s superficial and devoid of fun. Rather than offering enjoyable competition, multiplayer mini-games draw attention to the problematic controls.

All in all, Dragon Booster is a racing game that falls flat. A dull experience is produced by sluggish dragons, awkward controls, and repetitious battle against opponents that regenerate. Although the idea of dragon racing had potential, it was not executed in a way that captured any thrill, challenge, or enjoyment. If you’re not a die-hard fan who will beg for more once the credits roll, don’t bother with this mediocre rendition. You can find more entertaining dragon racing games than this Nintendo DS clunker.
