Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is a 2009 action RPG and sequel to Ultimate Alliance. Available on PS2, PS3, PSP, and more, it adapts comic storylines into its Civil War plot. Players choose heroes to form a squad of four and battle in isometric multiplayer.
The Vicarious Visions version has online play and an upgraded progression system. Fusions combine two powers for unique attacks. The story sees heroes divided on the Superhero Registration Act after a tragic explosion. You align with Iron Man’s pro-side or join Captain America against it, impacting missions and endings.
Gameplay involves dungeon crawling, leveling up abilities, and swapping characters. While Ultimate Alliance 2 was praised for better writing and branching narratives, the simplified gameplay and missing elements relative to the original disappointed some.
