Reaper of Souls plot

Following the events of the original game, the expansion continues the story with Malthael, an angel who stole the soul stone containing the essence of seven demons, including Diablo. This time, your created character must save the world and search for Malthael.

Your journey takes you to the city of Westmarch, the bloody ruins of Blood Marsh, and the fortress of Pandemonium from Diablo 2. Each environment is diverse, with new enemies. The plot lasts about 3–4 hours and has additional content about companion characters, leading you to places that were previously only mentioned, making the game more cohesive.

New Adventure Mode

After completing the new journey, adventure mode unlocks, allowing you to freely travel between old journeys, complete quests, and hunt bounties for greater rewards. Sometimes you have to kill all the monsters in a dungeon or defeat a boss.

Rift stones are awarded after completing missions. If you accumulate 5, you can open Nephilim Rift with a unique random underground dungeon full of monsters and a final boss containing many attractive rewards. This is truly a worthy reward for those who destroy demons.

New Crusader class

Reaper of Souls introduces the Crusader character class, similar to the Paladin in Diablo 2. This is a melee warrior who uses magical powers for support and defense. Crusaders can also use the new weapon Flail.

While The Crusader is fun, those who have played The Barbarian to the highest level may not find leveling up to 70 worthwhile, as the two classes have similar play styles. However, this is still an opportunity to re-experience the main storyline.
