Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt ROM Description

The legendary Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt cartridge for the NES is a precious piece of gaming history that won the hearts of players worldwide. It was included in the NES Action Set, which came coupled with the Zapper Light Gun, which was ideal for the game Duck Hunt and contributed significantly to the game’s overwhelming popularity. This cartridge was first made available to consumers in November of 1988 and was created and distributed by the illustrious gaming company Nintendo. It had a menu that allowed users to select the game they wanted.

The NES Power Set, which was released in December 1988 and featured a three-in-one version of Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and World Class Track Meet, was the next installment in the series to be released. This package not only re-released the time-honored titles Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt, but it also contained the cutting-edge Power Pad for World Class Track Meet, providing gamers with a new and exciting way to enjoy their favorite pastime.

Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. – a tale of heroic plumbers, Mario and Luigi, embarking on a grand quest to rescue the fair Princess Toadstool from the clutches of the nefarious King Bowser. This classic game, bundled with every NES system (with exceptions), still holds the title of the best-selling Mario game and the all-time top-selling video game, a true testament to its timeless charm.

Duck Hunt

Duck Hunt is one of 16 licensed NES games that use the NES Zapper. You and your trusty dog go hunting for ducks and try to shoot them after the dog chases them out using as few bullets as possible (you are allowed 3 tries per duck). An alternate game setting is Clay Pigeon, where you shoot at clay pigeons, but it is different from real life because you don’t yell “pull” (as it’s a video game). They fire, and you shoot them while the discs fly out of a launcher off-screen.
