Daxter ROM Description
Daxter is a platform video game for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It was developed by Ready at Dawn and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game is set in the Jak and Daxter franchise’s world and serves as a prequel to the original Jak and Daxter game.
The player takes control of Daxter, a wise-cracking sidekick who has been transformed into an exterminator. Daxter has to get rid of the bugs that have taken over the city. He does this by using his skills as an exterminator and various tools. Along the way, he meets many people, like bosses and friends, who help him move forward in the story.
As Daxter makes his way to the Krimson Guard stronghold, where he must sneak past the soldiers to release Jak, he faces a succession of platforming and fighting difficulties throughout a broad range of locations, from a high-speed transport system to a fish cannery.
The dream level portions in Daxter put Daxter in the role of hero in a fantastical world, and the game also has several vehicle levels and the kinds of minigames found in the Jak series. Minigames inside the dream sequences parody scenes from movies like The Matrix, Indiana Jones, Braveheart, and The Lord of the Rings. The game has a wireless co-op mode called “Bug Combat,” where players may utilize their accumulated and trained bugs to duel one another.
