Envision highly advanced micro-machines battling their way through the hallways and rooms of a typical house. That’s the bizarre idea behind the PSP minicar racer Pocket Racers, which is powered by conflict. Though the idea seems entertaining, the way it was done poorly leaves a lot to be desired.
You and your buddies have been reduced to radio-controlled automobiles by a malevolent magician. You have to run and win events around a suburban family in order to regain your humanity. In this absurd scene, scaffolding and kitchen sinks turn into makeshift raceways. Chaotic weaponry are added via pickups like lightning bolts and rockets.
It’s an innovative idea tainted with issues. Handsome physics and controls make it an exasperating workout to operate the little speedsters. Jumps often tip your automobile over and leave you unable to get it back. The handling problems are exacerbated by the choppy frame rate. While a reset button is useful, it frequently puts you in danger again.
Moreover, weapons intended to provide some spice fall flat.Attacks seem flimsy or unproductive. AI opponents also present less of a challenge. Although funny at first, the craziness of bursting through homes gets old over monotonous, unimaginative track design. You don’t really feel like you’re racing in actual rooms.
