Return to the ring for one more fight as Punch-Out Champ: Go the Distance in Rocky Balboa’s role as the Italian Stallion. In this PSP tie-in to the last Rocky movie, an aged Balboa faces off against fresh, hungry opponents.
Choose combatants with trademark techniques and fighting styles right out of the movies, such as Rocky, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and recent recruit Mason Dixon. Play in both the frantic Arcade and Exhibition modes, taking on famous spots from the series. Next, alter history in Historical Fights by taking on iconic film battles.
Even though Punch-Out Champ mimics the actors and scenes from the movies, the gameplay isn’t as good. Merely a small portion of the numerous intricate combinations are employed in the difficult battle. Overwhelming mood enhancers, such as the autopilot Power mode, devalue combat. Boxing is further hindered by extreme difficulty and imprecise controls.
Despite clumsy fighting, fans could like the vintage array of warriors that have been digitally reproduced in their image. Additionally, Rocky’s itch is satiated by unlocking concept drawings and tribute montages. Just be ready for some pain as you face off against Drago, the Russian juggernaut, and Apollo!
