The idea of strategic racing RPG mechanics sounds great. Join a crew, grind races to level up your ride, and conquer territory from rivals in team battles. But this exciting wrapper can’t save fundamentally dull racing.
With health bars dictating most 30-second contests, stay ahead to drain the opponent’s life. Fall behind, and yours dwindles rapidly. The courses themselves are painfully straightforward, with rigid steering through turns. Cars handle like bricks, sapping enjoyment.
It doesn’t help that excessive menu browsing and loading constantly halt any momentum. Selecting areas, scouting races, and loading alone eats over a minute. The brief, unsatisfying races that follow almost feel like a distraction.
With bland techno and minimal sound effects, audio proves forgettable. Visually, the excessive darkness leaves environments dreary and tough to navigate. The cars themselves showcase sharp detail up close, at least.
