In the events that take place some years after the conclusion of Risen, the earth has been ravaged by rampaging titans, and mankind has been forced to the edge of life. In the aftermath of this, horrible animals have emerged from the murky depths of the ocean, and their assaults have forced an end to all maritime activities. It is the mission of the hero, who is now a member of the Inquisition, to discover a way to end the mayhem produced by these creatures that come from the depths.
