Soldier of Fortune: Payback ROM Description
As the third entry in the Soldier of Fortune franchise, Soldier of Fortune: Payback is a first-person shooter video game. It comes after Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, which was the previous installment in the series. As the first installment in the series, it was made available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. A release date of November 13, 2007 was given for the game. The game is about a plot of vengeance against a terrorist group that operates on a global scale.
In the aftermath of a normal escort assignment that goes catastrophically wrong, freelance mercenary Thomas Mason finds himself engaged in a battle against a sneaky adversary who is unconcerned with borders. Traditional armies are incapable of dealing with these radicals; the only way to wage a war that is this nasty and with any degree of success is to employ underground gunmen.
The gameplay of Soldier of Fortune: Payback is an evolution of the hallmark gameplay of its predecessors. It has enhanced controls, warzones that are filled with drama, and an opponent damage system that may surprise even veteran first-person shooter gamers. More than thirty different weapons are included in the armory, making it the most extensive collection of weaponry available in any prior iteration of Soldier of Fortune. Submachine guns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, projectile explosives, weapon attachments, and cutting-edge tactical weapons are some examples of these types of weaponry.
The most popular online multiplayer modes are included in Soldier of Fortune: Payback. These modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Elimination, Team Elimination, Capture the Flag, and Demolition. Additional choices for playing online include maps that have been optimized for multiplayer action, persistent stat monitoring over the entirety of the gamer’s online career, and a wide variety of server settings that allow for individualized online gameplay.
