Dragon Quest Treasures is an action role-playing game that is an offshoot of the cult Dragon Quest series. It was developed by TOSE and published by Square Enix.

The main characters of Dragon Quest Treasures – Eric and Mia – are siblings living aboard their langskip and dreaming of going out into the world in search of treasure. One night, luck smiles at them – the main characters meet Porkus and Purrsula, mysterious creatures that carry our wards to Draconia – a country full of monsters and treasures waiting in the wings. Armed with the so-called dragon daggers, which allow them to control the monsters they meet, the heroes embark on a long-awaited journey into the unknown. However, they are not doomed to go it alone, as their spirit guides are Porkus (who looks like a pig) and Purrsula (who looks and acts like a cat).

In Dragon Quest Treasures, we’re watching from a third-person perspective (TPP). We can take on the role of both Eric and Mia; the main characters share all the progress they’ve made, so nothing is stopping us from switching between them.

In the game, we can explore a huge world consisting of several islands with a unique topography and climate. Here you can find both icy wastelands and picturesque valleys, huge canyons or towering volcanoes. Traveling through them, we primarily find treasures and tame the monsters living here. The latter are important to us because each has unique abilities (for example, flying or climbing rocks) that we use to get to hard-to-reach places.

The abilities of our wards also allow us to find treasures: with their help, we can easily find places where various valuables are buried. Then we must deliver the found gold, precious stones, and other valuables to the base to find out their value and features. Along the way, however, you need to be on the lookout, as gangs operate in Draconia, who will not miss the opportunity to get easy prey. Battles with them are dynamic, and in battle, we use the skills of heroes and the help of our monstrous companions. After safely reaching the base, we can start identifying the collected treasures.

As we progress, we develop the heroes and our command center; in addition, more and more powerful monsters are on our side. All this makes us, over time, become more and more experienced treasure hunters who are not afraid of any difficulties.
