Players take control of the Drifter, a shadowy figure who is afflicted with an unexplained illness and is nearing the end of their life. He travels from place to place in a post-apocalyptic world to locate the origin of his ailment and, ultimately, a treatment for it.
When it comes to fighting, the Drifter is proficient with his sword and various firearms. The player must strike a balance between close-quarters and long-range combat because guns can only be reloaded by slicing creatures and objects with the sword. In addition, the Drifter has the ability to dash in order to evade adversaries and jump over gaps.
As the player explores the globe, they will discover several hidden regions and things inside those locations. These include medkits that can cure the Drifter as well as keys and gems that can open doors in the environment that the Drifter is exploring. The player will also find coins, which can be used to purchase upgrades for the Drifter. Additional sword strikes, grenades, dash maneuvers, and other upgrades that significantly improve the Drifter’s performance in combat can be purchased by the user at any time.
